Reframing Innovation to Generate Public Good

April 22, 2025 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

What does your research mean outside of an academic setting?
How do you help WSU generate public good?
Who can help you along the way?

The Office of Commercialization extends WSU’s land grant mission by helping faculty transform research into the products and partnerships that improve lives. We support faculty and staff throughout the innovation process, from first idea to final product. Our ultimate goal is to supplement your research in a way that generates impact beyond traditional measurements like grant submissions and journal articles.

Join the Office of Commercialization, Association for Faculty Women, and ADVANCE for an introductory webinar on how Office of Commercialization support supplements research programs at every stage and in every discipline. We will focus on the role that woman innovators play in WSU’s mission to generate public good. The session will include a panel discussion and Q&A with innovators behind three of WSU’s most impactful commercialization ventures: Kate Evans (Cosmic Crisp®), Katrina Mealey (PrIMe®) and Kimberly McKiernan (Pharmacy Technician training curricula).

Our panelists will discuss the process of translating research from bench to market, the way it has shaped their research programs, and how intellectual property protection drives their capacity to produce lasting impact. The session is open to anyone interested in exploring these pathways and does not require previous experience or a current commercialization project in mind. We hope you can join us!
