Career Pathways Panel:

Retirement Considerations Beyond the HR Forms: Reflections and Advice on Retirement from Emerita AFW Members

While the WSU community is offered workshops aimed at helping those planning for retirement navigate important financial and insurance decisions, we rarely have the opportunity to hear about the equally important decisions involved in preparing for and executing the transition away from university-based research, scholarship, service, and teaching. Hear from four Emerita AFW members at different points in their retirement who will share their experiences and advice about preparing for and transitioning into the next phase of professional and personal life. Faculty at all stages in their professional careers are welcome!

Moderated by Karen Weathermon of First-Year Programs.

Panelists are:

  • Fran McSweeney, Professor Emerita of Psychology and Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs
  • Diane Gillespie, Professor Emerita of English
  • Sheila Kearney Sloan, Professor Emerita in the School of Music
  • Rebecca Craft, Professor Emerita of Psychology

This panel will be held virtually on Zoom and available to all WSU campuses. Your RSVP is appreciated but not required.
